Steps to Starting a TAFE Chapter

Connect at the Region Level

 Connect at the State Level

º Identify who is going to be the teacher leader of the TAFE chapter
º Go online to TAFE website and click on the Join/Renew tab. Toward the bottom, you will see a section for new chapters.  When you register, select University. Dues are $80 for the entire chapter.
º Start your chapter with your current education students and advertise around campus so other students can get connected.
º Elect officers and plan your calendar.
º Contact local high schools in your area that have TAFE chapter and let the students know you have a chapter they can join when they get to your university.

Volunteer yourself, colleagues, and education students to judge or present breakout sessions at region conferences.
º Exhibit at the TAFE conference in your region or nearby regions and at the state conference.
