This exclusive retreat for TAFE leaders is designed to give our student officers an opportunity to develop leadership skills, participate in team building activities, and work together collaboratively to plan their area conferences.
Who can attend? This training retreat is open to all TAFE chapters that have been elected to a state or area office for 2024-2025 (President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, Historian) and local chapter officers. Schools may bring up to 2 teacher leaders and 6 students.
When: May 9-11, 2024 (Newly elected STATE officers and Texas Ambassadors come in on May 8, 2024)
Where: Highland Lakes Camp, Spicewood, TX
Cost:$185 per person. (Texas Ambassadors, State and Area Officers are free.) Early bird discount of $10.00 will be applied if registered by April 14, 2024.
Who Can Attend: Local Chapter Officers, Area Officers, State Officers, Texas Ambassadors and their Teacher Leaders
Dress Code: TAFE student leaders should be aware of the impact of their personal appearance. All clothing that is low cut or reveals any part of the midriff, front or back and shorts that are shorter than the fingertips are strictly prohibited. Swim attire cannot be worn to work sessions unless it is fully covered. Athletic shoes and clothes are needed for the high ropes course and zipline.

The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit (501 c3) student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. The organization was created in 1984 to provide the best and brightest high school and middle school students in Texas with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about pursuing careers in education.
TAFE is sponsored by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of teachers, students and principals.
