Meet the Officers

Theme for 2024-2025: Roundin' Up Future Educators

2024-2025 Officer Schools:

President School: Jayden Petty
Alief Taylor High School, Area 4
Howdy, I'm Jayden Petty, known as "Petty," and currently a junior at Alief Taylor High School. At 17 years old, I proudly call Houston, TX, my hometown. I have been in many roles throughout my high school career including teammate, study buddy, mentor, and even mentee, but one of my proudest roles is serving as the 2024-2025 State President of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE). After joining TAFE, I immediately submerged myself in projects and events, such as appreciation events for our staff and custodians, and recreation events that had a lot to do with bonding and making memories with each other. I also was able to join CIA (Children Interacting Afterschool). This program allowed me to go to an elementary school near me, mentor students, and learn the true aspects of being a teacher. Beyond TAFE, I balance my life as a student-athlete, excelling in both academics and sports.  Family and friends hold a special place in my heart, and I prioritize quality time with them over anything else. Some of my best memories involve laughter shared with friends. I'm on a mission to make a difference and leave my mark on Alief Taylor High School and beyond.

Giddy-up, it’s going to be an exciting year with all of your new TAFE state officers.

  Vice President School: Jacque Roe
Lockhart High School, Area 3

Howdy y'all! I’m Jacque Roe and I am from Lockhart, Texas. I love being an active part of my school. I am in the National Honor Society, Student Council, UIL Academics, and, of course, TAFE! Some of my favorite things to do are spend time with the people I love, listen to music, and I especially love making jewelry. I am so honored to have been elected this year’s vice president and I can’t wait to share my passions and represent the state of Texas for the 2024-2025 school year!

This upcoming year I aim to increase engagement with TAFE members and help expand our organization's reach. Encouraging participation in the teaching profession is vital, and TAFE provides an excellent platform for individuals to begin their journey in education.

  Secretary School: Izi Crossett
Kingwood High School, Area 4

Hi, my name is Izabella Crossett, though I go by Izi. I am currently a junior at Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas in area 4, and I have been a member of TAFE for the past 3 years. Besides TAFE, I am part of my school's Robotics Club, where I am the head of marketing and the club's secretary. This year my robotics team made it to the state state and won the Rookie Inspiration Award. I am also a part of the Culture Club where I get to learn about other cultures and countries. My hobbies are baking and organizing, and I am always the type of person to bring sweet treats to any event. I have 5 younger siblings and 3 Cats Tinker, Bell and Fluffy. My favorite colors are pink and green, and I speak 2 languages. I am the type of person to always give my 110% percent and, most importantly, to never give up. TAFE has given me the confidence and motivation to become the best version of myself. I hope within the following TAFE season to help connect with TAFE members and help you become the best version of yourself.

  Historian School: Kimberly Guzman
Dumas High School, Area 8

Hello TAFE members! My name is Kimberly Guzman, and I am currently a sophomore at Dumas High School. Here's a couple facts so y’all can get to know me! I have been in TAFE for 2 years and I have competed in Interactive Bulletin Board and Chapter Yearbook! This past year I was the Area 8 Historian which was an amazing experience. Outside of TAFE I participate in my school's Band where I play the clarinet, do color guard, and am part of band council. Through TAFE, I have been able to meet so many new people from all over the state. My goal this year is to encourage and meet as many people as I can! I am confident that this year’s officer team will do amazing things! I hope to see you at nationals!
