TAFE Conference & Competitive Events Dress Code
General TAFE Conference Dress |
All competitors, judges, door monitors, timekeepers, runners, and teacher leaders in dress code.
If you are neither competing nor working at the events, but you are in the conference area, you must be neatly groomed and in business casual dress.
You cannot be in:
- Pajamas
- Swim Attire
- Shorts
- Jeans
- Athletic Attire
- T-shirts

Competition & Awards Recognition Dress

All students and teacher leaders should be in business professional dress.
NOTE: Students should be aware that when competing - points may be deducted for what the judge considers to be inappropriate or non-businesslike appearance. (Examples of this may include visible tattoos, facial piercing, hair styles or colors, etc.)

TAFE Social Activities |
You may wear your conference t-shirt or other TAFE shirt and nice jeans without holes.
Note: Cover-ups must be worn over swimsuits when not in water related areas. |
Females
- Dressy/Modest Shirt/Blouse with Sleeves (button-up, collared, polo, or shallow neckline is acceptable)
- Dress slacks or skirt/dress (with slits or length no higher than the knee) – No tight-fitting skirts
- Optional sweater or jacket
- Dress shoes (no full open-toed shoes, no athletic shoes including designer athletic shoes, flip flops or sandals) (maximum 3” heel)
- No backless, see-through, tight-fitting, spaghetti straps, midriffs, strapless, low-cut, bralettes, etc. attire allowed.
Males
- Collared shirt
- Dress slacks or khakis
- Optional: necktie, suit jacket, blazer, sweater, cardigan, or vest
- Dress shoes (no athletic shoes including designer athletic shoes, flip flops, or sandals)
All
- Clean and neatly groomed (wrinkle-free/non-overly tight)
- Conference name badge worn for competition & awards
- No shorts are allowed at any TAFE Area or State Conference
